Like painted kites, those days and nights, they went flying by

Today was a lovely day in Boston. It was warm but not too humid, with a nice breeze. I couldn't have asked for better weather. I decided to rock one of my new summer additions to my wardrobe, a silk popover.

Popover: J Crew/ Jeans: Hot Topic/ Boat Shoes: Sperry Top-Sider

I love popovers because they're like the light, airy cousin of the standard button up blouse. You can wear them tucked in to a nice pencil skirt with heels for a professional look, with cute shorts and sandals for a more casual vibe, or as I wore mine for a business casual outfit. They're pretty much THE perfect summer shirt.

A few disclaimers before I go:

1. I apologize again for the terrible picture quality. Bigfoot and I had pre-screening tickets for The Internship this evening and took these pictures when we still had enough daylight hours left. Ok movie, by the way. It was better than I expected.

2. I got this popover on super clearance during a sale with an extra discount code. So no lectures, Mom.

3. I got the red jeans at Hot Topic when I was about 15 (in 2005), so obviously I'm a trendsetter of some sort. Yeah, this whole colored jeans phenomena was my doing.

4. I was going to apologize for constantly using Frank Sinatra lyrics as my post titles, but then I realized I should never apologize for making Frank Sinatra references.

About

My name is Kayla. I started this blog as a means of documenting my journey from fashion victim to totally stylish (I hope). Problem is, I have no clue what I'm doing. Using the resources available to me (aka, the Internet) I'm hoping to develop my own sense of style.
